Soulless: Chapter 2 :Sonadow:

Chapter Two

  "So...brother, what do you want from me now?" Shadow asked, looking at his ebony colored brother with light gray blue stripes and impressive glowering green eyes like emeralds. His quills and spines in the same places as Shadow's-making it all the more obvious they were brothers. The only difference between the two physically was that Mephiles had a crystal crown that arched out of his head in uneven spikes.

  "Oh, Shadow, you always assume my visits are strictly for you to get me something. Maybe I just vistited because I wanted to see my sweet brother...," Mephiles said in his strong and powerful voice that screamed power and strength.

  "I know that is a lie...I can hear in behind every word you utter." Shadow growled out, glaring at his brother, knowing another "favor" was about to be asked of him. Even when Mephiles knew that he had no time to do a pointless favor for even the King.

  Mephiles chuckled, "You are truely smart, my brother, truely smart. I have a favor to ask of you. Well, of course you know it's more of an...order. I found the perfect little hedgehog to be my mate, but there is only one small problem...he isn't a demon. I need you to make him a demon for me," Mephiles stated the last part in a serious manner, having spent 17 million years without any female or male to call his. He knew that the male he'd chosen was perfect, but with much regret only one demon ever millenium was born with the ability to change non-demons into demons. Though, most regretabley that demon was Lord Shadow. It was extremely degrading to have to ask his lower ranked brother for help all the time, but in this case he really had no choice.

  Shadow sighed, "So...who is this male?" He asked, knowing this favor would be no small feat. Even for him, changing non-demons into demons was a tedious task. The ritual took effort and, more importantly, it took patience.

  "Oh-silly me!-did I say male? I meant males," Mephiles stated, knowing it was only protocol for a higher ranked demon to have multiple mates, especially when he'd found two perfect beauties right in the Mobian land Mobious, "There names are Sonic the Hedgehog-famed hero of this land-and Silver the Hedgehog-a sweet telekenetik. I require you to make them demons for me. Whether they want to be demons or not. I don't care what it takes, I want them both. You understand?" and without waiting for a responce, "Good. I have them here with me," Mephiles said, snapping his fingers and the two males stepped out of the darkness.

  Shadow's gaze grazed firstly down the blue colored male. He had deep pools of beautiful emerald for eyes and soft looking blue fur-with an exceotion for his peach belly. He had the long legs of a runner, and a determined, yet broken, look in his eyes.

  The other male was smaller and more feminine then the other. He had silver colored fur and his head looked like some kind of weed had grown smack dab on the top of it. Though, Shadow found that to make the silver male even cuter. He may hate his brother, but he couldn't deny he'd found good mates. Even if they weren't mates yet, they would be.

  "Beautiful, aren't they? Well, I must go now. I want them back in six months. I suppose that'll be enough time for you, brother?" And with that the Demon King dissapeared.

  There was a long silence between the males, all of them looking each other over much more thouroughly now that the King was gone.

  "...Are you Sonic?" Shadow asked, stepping up to the blue colored male, who winced as soon as the ebony male approached him. Shadow didn't seem surprised. These males knew their fates. Shadow also knew that this wasn't their choice and Mephiles had probably tortured them into submission, "Do not be afraid of me...please. I am not as bad as my brother, I promise." Shadow murmured, cupping the blue males face with one gloved hand, bringing Sonic's face up to look at him.

  Sonic glared at the demon in front of him, "Why should I believe you?" He spat, "You're probably just as bad as your bastard brother."

  Shadow chuckled, "You're right. My brother is a bastard. And I'm not asking you to believe me...I'm asking you to cooperate with me, if you wouldn't mind. I know my brother was cruel to you, Sonic, but you need not fear me. You will learn that soon enough." Shadow said, letting go of Sonic's face and looking to Silver, "You must be Silver. Of course, you are quite adorable," Shadow said, hoping to get a responce from the poor under-fed hedgehog. He could see both the males ribs, and only hoped that Mephiles' wouldn't treat them in such a manner when they were mates. As he waited for a reaction, the silver male only looked bleakly at Shadow, sad eyes he had. "Please, do not be sad. I will treat you better then my brother did," Shadow attempted to get the male to speak. When he got no responce yet again, he gave up.

  "I bet you are both hugry, aren't you? AMY." Shadow yelled Amy's name, having earlier ordered the female to make some food, and bring it to him when he called.

  Moments later, the frantic pink female scurried into the room with two trays of food-seeing how Shadow often ate a lot-and placing it on a table, turning then, now noticing the two new males, "Awwww, they're so cute, Lord Shadow! Are they yours?" She squealed, hugging Sonic.

  Shadow chuckled, seeing Sonic's anger face, "Please let the poor boy go. He needs to eat," Shadow said in a light voice, even though his face portrayed no emotion other then anger.

  Amy reluctant realeased the poor male, patting him quickly on the head before scurrying off once more to perform more important duties.

  "Please...come eat..." Shadow said, and he barely had to say anything before both of the hedgehogs ravinously dug into the food.

  Shadow sighed, he knew it would be a while before he gained either of their trust, but this was an excellent start. If only Mephiles hadn't ruined them before he'd even recieved them. Maybe then they'd be more willing to trust Shadow. With a sigh he watched the males gourge themselves on the food that had inicially been set out for Shadow.

  'This is going to be a long six months...'
